AGARTALA, Dec 19 (TIWN): A team of BSF, TSR, Boxanagar Forest Department, and Boxanagar police conducted a joint operation at Kamalnagar, Ghatigarh area under Sonamura PS on Friday and destroyed a large number of cannabis plants. While the large team of police went to destroy the cannabis field the cannabis cultivators shouted with slang and pelted stones at police.

Later to control the situation of agitated locals, police used tear gas. After controlling the situation the team of police destroyed about 1,20,000 cannabis plants in 20 fields which market price estimated several lakh rupees. Moreover, following this cannabis plant's destruction, local Ganja cultivators broke into tears.

 Police said such campaigns will continue in the coming days.
