AGARTALA, Dec 16 (TIWN): Public agitated over deprivation in getting proper compensation for national highway construction in Kailashahar.

In protest, locals have blocked there national highway construction seeking proper compensations for the affected people. It has been alleged by the locals that Rs. 30 lakhs valued land is taken away at only Rs. 3 lakhs by Govt without giving chance to talk by the family members.

The trees which are being chopped, for them also, proper prices are not given. 

"Building to trees, no assessment was done properly. So, till the proper rates are considered for compensation, no work will be allowed here. Govt can't fool the people like this", said Birjit Sinha. 

Congress leader, former State Congress President Birjit Sinha has stood beside the locals and assured to raise the issue to the higher authority.
