AGARTALA, Nov 17 (TIWN): On a pathetic note one house wife died after she set herself on fire followed by a family quarrel. The incident occured in Khayerpur area on Thursday night. The house wife succumbed to her injuries on yesterday night.

Reportedly, Abhijit Saha, resident of khayerpur married to the victim 7 years ago. After marriage he started torturing her on regular basis. The neighbours said that he used to physically assault her. On Thursday night after he came home drunk, he beaten his wife and abandoned her with severe injuries. Later, the victim set herself on fire.
When the neighbours noticed it, they immediately informed fire brigade. Fire brigade took her to GB hospital where she fought for her life for 4 long days and succumbed to the pain on yesterday night. The family members filed a case against the husband, police sent her body for autopsy to proceed further investigation.
