AGARTALA, Oct 29 (TIWN): Tripura Cultural Association members on Thursday afternoon staged massive protest curriculum infront of City Centre against the recent shameful act of assaulting a famous folk singer by mob.

While addressing media one woman artist said, "We worship goddess Durga as our devi. But in a land where we don't know how to respect our mothers and sisters then what's the necessity of worship Devi Durga's idol only? Being a woman and mother of a girl I feel scared and helpless watching such unsafe atmosphere around us."

"This is enough of harassment, criminal activities against women. If we don't raise our voice now and if the government can't take strong action against such heinous acts then the safety of our women will be at stake."

However, the 4 culprits arrested in sexual harassment of the woman singer was produced before Court today and the court granted all of them an interim bail. Further investigation is going on in this case.
