AGARTALA, Oct 29 (TIWN): As only 2 persons have been arrested in the sexual assault of a popular singer in Tripura, the Opposition CPI-M has hoisted massive protest on Thursday. This protest included voice for all tortured women, girls across the country under the Modi Govt and Police's loopholes in the investigation in few politically pressurized cases specially in the Uttar Pradesh like states.
Allegedly, in the protest former CPI-M Minister Ratan Bhowmik was harassed by police.
On being asked by media, Bhowmik said, "Not only me but all who attended in the rally have been harassed by police.
These attacks can not supress the voice of the people". CPI-M breaking police's constant pressures, later continued the protest in various parts of the capital town Agartala. Ironically, when police is tough against the opposition, on yesterday night, police were abused by Bajrang Dal before media in the West Agartala PS after police had arrested a culprit when he held attacks on two lawyers at West Dist Court.
CPI-M party has condemned police's politically motivated actions against opposition rallies when it's puppet before the ruling party goons.
