AGARTALA, Oct 28 (TIWN): Agartala Press Club is once again under storms of controversy centering the election.
Earlier, after the Govt changed in State, Agartala Press Club issue was raised up to court as the current members allegedly snatched chairs from the existing senior members of the press club, forcing them to resign. No election was announced to be held in free and fair manner.
Now in 2020, once again centering election, peculiar scenarios are seen where musical chair competition has begun.
In a strange display it has been noticed that the Election Candidate Pranab Sarkar doing returning Officer’s Job , accepting nominations only from his supporters, and rejecting nominations from other Journalists, which has erupted massive resentment among a section of journalists.
Surprisingly, the senior journalists who are fighting for Tripura's democracy and press freedom and recently brought a revolution of brave journalism under Assembly of Journalists are not much seen in this musical chair competition.
