AGARTALA, Oct 20 (TIWN): Modi Govt's "Achhe Din" is still much awaiting and his promise to Tripura about "Hira" have turned so costly that amid COVID-19 period, ahead of Durga puja, public are announced to pay more bus-fares. Today, Law Minister Ratanlal Nath and Transport Minister Pranajit Singha Roy have announced about this "Bad News" to people. This decision of fare hikes was taken after the bus drivers held a 3 days long bus-strike, caused much problems for the people. Amid COVID-19 and slow-economy, when people are reported starving, suffering in financial distress, this decision has shocked them further. However, addressing media, Transport Minister Pranajit Singha Roy has blamed the previous CPI-M Govt saying, it did not increase bus fares for long 6 years and thus BJP Govt in 2 and half years is bound to increase fare twice. For fare hikes, a committee will be formed and soon the hiked fares will be announced. All seats of the buses can be used, added the Minister.
