AGARTALA, Oct 15 (TIWN): As Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Deb has not apologized for his Undemocratic statement yet, journalists have staged protest here in Agartala on Thursday. Journalists of Tripura led by Assembly of Journalists have staged an agitation against the increasing attacks on media, press there. The issue of their protest was centered against CM Biplab Deb's threatening speech to media where he said he will not forgive a section of media who are doing anti-govt news based on COVID-19 mismanagement. Tripura Assembly of Journalists said that media world is now heavily concerned over the statement came from Chief Minister Biplab Deb during his Sabroom speech where he openly threatened media.After Chief Minister's statement, atleast two journalists have been brutally attacked and injured physically. The organization took the issue to higher level from Governor to Prime Minister, Home Minister of India, Press Council of India, International Federation of Journalists, Commonwealth Human Rights Initiatives, Editor's Guild etc, but till now CM Biplab Deb has not apologized.
