AGARTALA, Oct 7 (TIWN): On Tuesday afternoon Sadar ASDM and other administrative members raided different sweet shops of Agartala to check the implementation of recent act that come to force from 1st October. According to the act circulated by Food Safety Department, every sweet shop of the State have to mention "Best Before" date infront of sweet items. The action is taken in order to maintain the quality of food items for the people.
But today after the raid, it was found that not every sweet shop of Agartala is following the rule. While talking to media Sadar ASDM Binoy Bhusan Das said, "We have seen few shops are not maintaining the rule properly. No manufacturing date is mentioned. Action will be taken against them. We would urge every shop to mention the manufacturing date and best before date as well."
He also informed that such raids will be continued to ensure the safety major of food items in future days.
