BELONIA, Oct 3 (TIWN): Name plate of a community hall in South Tripura has been destroyed allegedly by BJP as it was carrying Manik Sarkar's name in the foundation display.

This incident took place at 'Mohini Tripura' memorial community hall.

Belonia CPI-M committee has condemned this incident, said, since BJP is in power, there are massive destructive politics happening in this state and everywhere destructions are visible. 

Earlier, in this community area, proposed construction of a Ram temple was done by Biswa Sanatan Sena which was covered by various national news. 

Mohini Tripura, a tribal woman who was killed in police firing on March 17, 1967, during an agitation for tribal rights over forest land.  Mohini’s death caused an upheaval in the tribal community at that time and she became a symbol of tribal resistance and the movement for forest rights.
