AGARTALA, Sep 26 (TIWN): On the occasion of birth anniversary of Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar, tribute was paid to the legend across Tripura.

The programme progressed with the floral tribute to Iswarchandra’s statue at Drop gate area, known as Arundhuti Nagar, Agartala. 

That great person was born in 26th  September 1820 & died on 29 July 1891. He was an Indian Bengali Polymath and a key figure of the Bengali Renaissance.  He was a philosopher, academic educator, writer, translator, printer, publisher, entrepreneur, reformer, and philanthropist.
