AGARTALA, Sep 14 (TIWN): Tripura Assembly of Journalists, which has been formed to protect journalists unitedly beyond ideological differences has given 3 days time to Chief Minister Biplab Deb to withdraw his "undemocratic", "unconstitutional" statement against media.
In a press release, Tripura Assembly of Journalists said that media world is now heavily concerned over the statement came from Chief Minister Biplab Deb during his Sabroom speech where he openly threatened media.
The Committe has marked the statement of Tripura CM as 'Undemocratic' and 'Unconstitutional'.
After Chief Minister's statement, atleast two journalists have been brutally attacked and injured physically. The organization will be taking the issue to higher level from Governor to Prime Minister, Home Minister of India, Press Council of India, International Federation of Journalists, Commonwealth Human Rights Initiatives, Editor's Guild etc.
Senior journalists in the meeting has compared the time period of last two years worse than Emergency time.

Syandan newspaper Editor Subal Dey pressed upon the importance of press-freedom's existence under any Govt as once something is imposed by any dictator Govt, it is being carried by the next Govt also.
PTI journalist Jayanta Bhattacharjee has stated, "Cutting press voice is to cut public's right to know and attack on media is nothing but attack on public".
Paramita Livingstone, Dainik Sambad Editor has called media person to stay united amid ideological and other differences between them and to come in a same platform where all journalists, media persons will get voice to raise.
On yesterday a Journalist Parashar Biswas has been attacked brutally after he criticized CM Biplab Deb over his statement at Sabroom, with a threat to media.
Total two journalists were reportedly attacked in last 48 hours in the Northeast state Tripura, followed by CM Biplab Deb's threat against media.
