AGARTALA, Aug 20 (TIWN): BJP activists were injured in a clash and police lathi-charge after they attempted to create disturbance in Bishalgarh by stopping Congress’s vehicle. Charilam Mandal President of BJP Rajkumar Debnath has been hospitalized after the incident.

BJP activists allegedly held attacks on Congress’s vehicle at Bishalgarh on National Highway, asking them to “go back”.

Congress activists were going to Agartala led by Subal Bhowmik to join Rajiv Gandhi’s statue inauguration programme and a clash erupted there.

When Police were informed, massive team rushed to the spot, controlled the situation but BJP activists allegedly held attacks on police personnel too.

After that, BJP activists were lathi-charged by police and few left injured, as per primary observation of the unexpected incident. 

However, BJP said that Congress attacked on them and Congress said the BJP attacked on them.
