AGARTALA, Aug 13 (TIWN): On the wake of 74th Independence day, BSF has increased border patrolling at Indo-Bangla borders. Border Security Force (BSF) have deployed additional forces to step up vigil in the state bordering with neighbouring Bangladesh just after the days ahead of the Independence Day celebrations on August 15. The strength of security forces was augmented in vital areas of the state especially in the areas where the barbed wire fencings are yet to be constructed. Patrolling along the Assam-Agartala national highway and interior places was being intensified as a precautionary measure. In Agartala Airport also, security has been beefed up and tight vigils there also continues. On 14th August there will be checking, dog-squad and on 15th August a huge number of troops to safeguard the state.
Commemorating the nation’s independence from British rule, India will celebrate its 74th Independence Day this year, but with a slight twist. Owing to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, there will be no social gatherings, instead, all states and government offices have been asked to webcast their events and celebrations.
