Couple committed suicide after family rejected their relation

AGARTALA, Aug 4 (TIWN): A middle-aged man with his neighbour committed suicide, hanging from the same rope on Sunday. The incident took place in koidapa area under Madhupur PS.
The deceased has been indentified as Shankar Goswami(44) and Purnima Das (32). The locals alleged that, after Purnima's husband left her, Shankar and Purnima was having relationship from many years. But both of their families denied to accept their relationship. They even complained to grampanchayat about Shankar and Purnima. But nothing could break their relation.
At last, after fighting with their families and finding noways of living together, the couple decided to commit suicide.
On Monday morning when locals spotted them hanging from the same rope in a forest nearby, they immediately called Madhupur PS. Police recovered their bodies and sent them to Madhupur Primary health Centre's Morgue. Their body will be submitted to their families after post mortem.
