AGARTALA, July 26 (TIWN): Lack of "preparedness" was witnessed in Tripura's various markets on Sunday as amid no presence of Police, TSR personnel, heavy crowd thronged to the markets making mass gathering and the social-distance issue went beyond glimpses. In Agartala Gol Bazar market, even the buyers have expressed disgusts over no preparedness by State Govt caused massive damages in COVID-19 spread factors, after public came in contacts through the market gatherings. Not only in Agartala but same happened in various subdivisions of Tripura. Amid Tripura Govt assured daily commodity, food markets along with emergency services to remain open partially during 72 hours lockdown but only for 3 days lockdown, buyers were seen rushing to the markets from the morning hours and made them overcrowded in Agartala. In Gol Bazar like markets, there was no space to walk properly even and social-distancing had turned ‘out of question’.
Question raised on the preparedness of the Govt, Police Dept as public’s such attitudes are not unexpected and earlier also they did the same. But ahead of 3 days lockdown, today’s damage might be more dangerous citing example of “irony” of Lockdowns. There was nothing like access control gate or enough deployment of security personnel in market premises. Bazar Committee members’ roles are also shown with total negligence.
