AGARTALA, July 26 (TIWN): Eventhough Lockdown for 3 days to be started from tomorrow 5 AM but restrictions to be imposed from today evening as the ongoing night curfew from 9 pm to 5 am is already in force. The lockdown will be imposed from 5 am on July 27 to be continued till 5 am on July 30. This will be in continuation of the night curfew to be imposed from 9 pm on July 26. According to the Union Health Ministry, Tripura has reported 3,759 COVID-19 cases including 1,617 active cases, 2,131 recovered cases and 11 deaths so far. Government of Tripura Office of the Chief Secretary No.F.2(1)/CS/H&FW/Mask/2020 Dated 25th July, 2020 ordered, “It has come to the notice of the State Government that there is spread of COVID-19 occurring in different parts of the state which has posed a major threat to public health, hygiene and safety of the peopleâ€.
“It is also felt that unless stringent measures are put in place to contain the spread of the pandemic, there is chance of large scale spread of COVID19 in the population which is likely to cause loss of human lives. I, therefore, in the capacity of the Chairman of the State Executive Committee of Tripura State Disaster Management Authority, in exercise of the powers conferred under Section 22 (2) (h) of the Disaster Management Act, 2005 direct enforcement of “Total Lockdown” in entire area of the State of Tripura for 3 days w.e.f. 5 A.M. of 27th July 2020 (Monday) to 5 AM on 30th July, 2020 (Thursday)”.
This will be in continuation of night curfew to be inforce at 9 PM on 26th July (Sunday).
