Agartala, Nov 23 (TIWN): All Tripura Fair Price Shop Dealers’ Association is continuing a day-long state level convention at Press Club, here today. The president, secretary and treasurer for the association will be nominated by the members of the association during the convention.

According to the last report, with an effort to strengthen the Public Distribution System (PDS) in the Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) areas and to implement the goodwill of state government, different decisions were taken by the association members in the convention.

The 31-member association committee and the general members jointly decided to a deputation to the Director of Food Department and to visit Tripura Food Minister sanctioning the demands of ration shop dealers.

The ration shop dealers play vital role to strengthen the Public Distribution System. Though there is a demand existing for dealer commission and transportation commission, but the ration shop dealers are carrying out their responsibilities for the interest of PDS and consumers accordingly, said convener of the association- Tapan Sengupta while addressing the convention today.
