AGARTALA, July 8 (TIWN):The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has slashed a slew of chapters from its curriculum course for the academic year 2020-21 to reduce the burden on students in light of the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.
As per the report, the syllabus of Economics and Political Science has been slashed for classes 9 to 12 and when it comes to class 11 chapters like Secularism, Nationalism, Federalism and Citizenship have been removed from the syllabus.
For class 12, chapters like - Security in the contemporary world, environment and natural resources, social and new social movements in India and regional aspirations have been removed.
Similarly chapters like Democracy and Diversity, Caste, Religion and Gender, and Challenges to Democracy have been removed from the Class 10 syllabus.
CBSE states that the syllabus for the upcoming academic year would be reduced by 33 per cent as the new academic session has been delayed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
