AGARTALA, July 5 (TIWN): To fight the COVID-19 pandemic and sighted to break the transmission of Corona Virus, Tripura is maintaining a 24 hours Complete Lockdown, started from 5 am and to be continued till 5 am tomorrow. Whereas the Opposition CPI-M has called this decision as ‘meaningless’, ‘unscientific’, the daily workers and hawkers are the highest victims of the situation. Criticism erupted based on whether 1 day lockdown can stop transmission of Coronavirus or not. Amid all controversies, roads remained crowdless, just like a complete strike like situation across. In Agartala also, no vehicle was seen plying on roads, whereas tight security was imposed in the state. Police were seen not allowing anyone to go out. Tripura’s Corona virus cases have reached to 1,525, recovery cases 1,199 and 1 death. On yesterday also, 25 persons tested COVID-19 Positive. The Tripura government started free distribution of vitamin-C-enriched pineapple and lemon juice among the people in urban areas to increase their immunity against Covid-19, here on Saturday.
