AGARTALA, July 2 (TIWN): Indo-Bangla Fish-importing has been restored with over 38,000 Kilo of fish entered on Wednesday. Talking Indo-Bangla, Exporter-Importer Sector Secretary at Akhaura Border Krishna Majumder, he said, “After 95 days, the export-import business for fish have been started. Due to the lockdown, the business was being halted for that long period. By maintaining full guidelines, now fish importing has been freshly startedâ€. On being asked by media, what safety measures against COVID-19 is being taken as Bangladesh is sensitive to the pandemic right now, the official said that each vehicle is being sanitized for 40 minutes and then drivers are also sanitized. After dropping the item, when the Bangladesh driver goes off, then the Indian driver goes there to pick the item.
“We maintain total social distancing and mask is mandatory. Total 38,776 Kilo fish came on Wednesday and on Tuesday 32,342 Kilo”, said the official.
However, when TIWN visited, it was seen that workers from Bangladesh are not wearing masks.
