AGARTALA, June 18 (TIWN): After a suspension period, trade has started via Akhaura checkpost again.
Akhaura checkpost is the India-Bangladesh trade zone, used for exports and imports.
Due to COVID-19 outbreak, few jawans along with a Doctors became COVID-19 infected during their duties at the checkpost.
The Govt pointing out concerns over the situation, had closed the checkpost for a temporary period, now reopened for trade.
Also this route is used to pass the stranded people to Bangladesh.
