AGARTALA, June 16 (TIWN): As a part of nationwide protest, Opposition leader of Tripura, Politburo member Manik Sarkar has accused the BJP led Central Govt to change the whole nation into a jail taking the chance of nationwide lockdown, using this lockdown as weapon to curtail public vouices. “The anti-poor policy of the BJP Govt has been badly affecting Tripura also. Our protests and demands made MGNREGA mandays possible but the mandays are not sufficient. Aleast 200 days of MGNREGA works have to be given. Before election, BJP promised to give Rs.340 MGNREGA wages but no hike practically happened. The MGNREGA wages should be increased nationally. We also demand allowance for the unemployed youths under a national policy. We have also another demand that the national properties which are actually people’s properties are attempted to be given in the hands of privates. It will benefit the industrialists who are at the peak of their lust for those national companies ownershipâ€, said Manik Sarkar.
“In such situations, instead of taking pro-people decisions, BJP Govt is taking the opportunity of Lockdown, imposing dark laws and to suppress voices the whole country has been transformed into a Jail”, Sarkar told media.
