Agartala, Nov 20 (TIWN): More than 300 picketers were arrested from different parts of Tripura when they obstructed a section of office-goers, vehicular movements and other government works, police said. While picketing in the 12-hour dawn-to-dusk strike, Tripura Opposition Leader- Sudip Roy Barman, state president of Pradesh Youth Congress - Susanta Chowdhury, MLA Gopal Roy, working president of Prasdesh Congress- Ashish Saha, other congress leaders, supporters and workers were arrested.
The 12-hour Tripura Bandh also hit the India-Bangladesh trade as hundreds of trucks were stranded at Akhaurah checkpost. The bus services between Tripura and Bangladesh including other northeastern states were also disrupted in Tripura by the 12-hour bandh.
According to the TPCC working president- Ashis Saha, the state people till now supported the 12-hour dawn-to-dusk Tripura bandh happily. Besides, Saha congratulated all the state people, congress workers for their partial supports to make the bandh successful till now.
According to the police, 12-hour dawn-to-dusk strike is going on peacefully in the state except some minor political clashes in the different parts of the state as of now.
Congress alleged that, some of the CPI-M party cadres have been attacking on the boandh supporters and trying to create an unrest situation in the different corners of the state since morning.
