In such an incident, state Tripura which claimed for highest literacy rate has reported with crime-spree at the cost of superstitions, whereas police officer appointed in the village PS has also given full support to the villagers by denying to arrest the culprits. The widow was beaten at Champaknagar’s Chinkram Conra Para on 29th May, 2020, Friday by villagers, accusing her as a witch. She was attempted to be murdered on spot but later when police rescued her she luckily survived but still critical to her health at the GB hospital. “When we asked the Police, he said in all cases, people can not be arrested. But a widow woman was beaten like this and she will not get any justice----- then for why the constitution and law are existing in the country ?”, said Bibhuti Debbarma, a local.
