Bandhan Bank officer harassed by villagers after seeking installment amounts

AGARTALA, June 8 (TIWN): On Monday, amid rain and storms, some women in Charilam area gheraod Bandhan bank officer when he forced them for paying instalment amount. At first they replied politely that due to the lockdown they couldn't earn enough money, they will pay once the lockdown ends. But after few requests when the officer didn't bother to listen, the locked him up and demanded RDSC manager Uttam Sarkar to come to the spot.
The situation took place in Bankumari area of Charilam when Bank officer Usha Ranjan Saha came to Priyotosh saha's house for collecting money from Geetanjali group. Though 15-16 women already submitted the money but due to poverty Mamata Das and Tinku Das couldn't pay. But after forcing for many times, the members of Geetanjali group gheraod him and locked him in the house.
After knowing about this incident, RDSC manager rushed to the spot and rescued him.The members of Geetanjali group alleged that, when the government is saying that there's no necessity to pay the installment during Lockdown, how can the authority of Bandhan Bank create such scene.
