AGARTALA, May 25 (TIWN): Muslims in Tripura celebrated Eid-ul-Fitr on Monday sans the congregational prayers, traditional festivities, new clothes by obeying lockdown restrictions due to coronavirus outbreak.
Chief Minister Biplab Deb has greeted the Muslim community, thanking them for observing Eid with by not making gathering. The Chief Minister has further greeted the Muslim community on auspicious Eid festival, thanking the community for observing Eid with social distancing.
Eid al-Fitr, also called the "Festival of Breaking the Fast", is a religious holiday celebrated by Muslims worldwide that marks the end of the month-long dawn-to-sunset fasting of Ramadan. This religious Eid is the only day in the month of Shawwal during which Muslims are not permitted to fast.
