AGARTALA, May 24 (TIWN): After the long-pending demands from auto drivers, the government has decided to increase the minimum fare for autos, fixing it at Rs 30 . The Cabinet on 19 May took the decision.
Law Minister Ratan Lal Nath said, "Now one must pay minimum 30 rupees fare for auto ride, it will stick upto four and half kilometres, after that rupees 7.20 will be added per kilometre."
However, this decision has created a certain concern among the passengers regarding the sudden jump of rupees 10 to 30. In a state where unemployment rate is touching heights , people are loosing their source of income for lockdown, such costly transportation created panic among the common people.
