AGARTALA, May 2 (TIWN): The Central Govt has agreed to setup a logistic hub in the Sabroom subdivision of Tripura under South Tripura District.

A logistics hub is a center or specific area designated to deal with activities related to transportation, organization, separation, coordination and distribution of goods for national and international transit, on a commercial basis by various operators.

Chief Minister Biplab Deb has announced this on Friday.

CM in an announcement said, “On behalf of People of Tripura, I thank PM Shri Narendra Modi ji & Union Minister for Industries & Commerce Shri Piyush Goyal ji for their sincere efforts on agreeing to our proposal of setting up a Logistics Hub at Sabroom. The central government has asked Asian Development Bank to prepare Detail Project Report at the earliest.Tripura is soon going to have Logistics Hub”.

“The Logistics Hub will help entire North East Region export industrial and food items via Chittagong Port transforming Tripura into a Gateway to the entire North East Region”, he added.
