AGARTALA, April 24 (TIWN): Out of 54 tea gardens in Tripura, 47 are functional, said Law Minister Ratanlal Nath to media here.
“Industry Dept has told the Cabinet, out of 54 tea gardens, 47 are functional. Social distances have been totally maintained during the working hours. At the same time, the tea garden workers are being helped by the Govt of Tripura financially”, Nath told media.
“This had to done so that the production would not be closed. However, 7 out of 54 tea gardens could not be started yet. These 7 tea gardens are : Dhaleswar (4), Kalyanpur (1), Rajnagar (1), Shekerkote (1). But, Govt is trying to open these tea gardens soon”, the Minister added.
“Total 11,393 workers are there in the functional tea gardens. They are benefited by Govt and also the owner is getting help as the production goes on”, Ratanlal Nath said.
