AGARTALA, April 14 (TIWN): Chief Minister Biplab Deb has welcomed the Lockdown extension decision of Prime Minister Modi, announced today morning 10 am during his address to the nation.

In a tweet CM said, “I welcome and support the decision taken by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji to extend the lockdown till 3rd May, 2020. I believe, the decision will definately help our country defeat the COVID19 pandemic. I appeal everyone to stay indoors during the lockdown period”.

The Chief Minister further announced that according to the Central Guidelines, in Tripura also strictly the lockdown will be observed.

Appealing masses, Deb requested them to observe Lockdown till 20th April at best and based on that performance, Govts to review the situation and whether any relaxation can be given or not, to be decided.

However, there is high chance of relaxation for Tripura as till now only 2 persons were tested positive and both at recovery stages.
