AGARTALA / NEW DELHI, April 12 (TIWN): With COVID19 Death Toll has raised to 273 tensions fueled up. However, in Northeast the infected number remains at 35 with single death in Assam. In Tripura 2 persons who tested positive, are stable and recovering. Leaving no stone unturned, Tripura Govt has ordered retest of total 769 Home & Institutional quarantine testing to be done within 1 week, 361 samples taken, 337 samples tested, now taking preparations for probable extension of lockdown. Along with the whole nation, state Tripura too observes lockdown on Day 19. Tight securities continue statewide to keep people home as much as possible. At the same time, Govt is taking all measures with the most chances of Lockdown extension.
The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has said that a total of 1.79 lakh samples had been tested in India till Saturday.

Joint Secretary in the Health Ministry Lav Agarwal said on Saturday that the number of coronavirus cases in the country could have increased to 8.2 lakh by April 15 had India not implemented a lockdown and other containment measures.
