AGARTALA, April 9 (TIWN): Health Dept has found the protest of the nurses were unethical when state is suffering from such a major tension due to COVID19 Outbreak.
18 nurses were served with show-case notices after they showed protest at GB hospital on Wednesday demanding PPE.
Addressing media, Tripura Health Secretary Debasish Basu has said, “On yesterday few nurses had staged protest at the GB Hospital but their protest was without any procedure and understanding. Also, sufficient equipment were given to hospitals”.
Clarifying the matter further, Basu said, “Their allegation against dept is not fact. All the nurses are not connected with that work. We have given enough equipment but they all demanded N95 masks but all demands can’t be accepted”.
“Their protest came in social media also. In such a critical situation, their activity was just inappropriate. Thus, Dept has taken the issue seriously. Total 18 persons have been issued with show-cause notice”.
