GUWAHATI, April 9 (TIWN): The Kamrup (Metro) district administration on Wednesday sealed a hotel in the city and quarantined its employees after a woman from Tripura, who tested positive for Covid-19 on Tuesday, revealed in her travel history that she had stayed there before returning home last month.
The authorities have also qurantined a priest of Kamakhya Temple and his family with whom the Tripura woman had stayed during her trip to Guwahati.
"The woman had come from Tripura on March 15 to offer puja at Kamakhya temple and spent the night at the residence of a priest at the temple complex. The administration has quarantined all the members of the family. She then stayed in the hotel on March 16 and 17. All the employees of the hotel have been quarantined," an official said.
He added, "We are now in search for six persons from Karimganj who had travelled with her in the same coach of Tripura Sundari Express on her return journey from Guwahati to Tripura."
