AGARTALA, March 25 (TIWN): Tripura’s IAS, IPS officials swung into action to control emergency type situation with starving people due to national lockdown. Tripura’s urban areas poor and homeless people, daily workers were distributed with two times meals today as a part of displaying humanity by State Govt during 21 days lockdown due to Corona-virus outbreak.
Urban Development Director Shailesh Kumar Yadav who issued an order to Municipal Commissioners, Chief Executive Officers (CEO), and Executive Officers, today after distribution, expressed his satisfaction saying that around 500 food packets were distributed today whereas babies will get milk from tomorrow.
When food reached to the people on road, rushed gathered to get the food packets, citing uncountable poor people, homeless people are living on the heart of this capital city.
However, many other states have already taken this decision and here the opposition parties continued to press the Government for this.
Public have demanded same should be done for the poor in urban areas.
Total 20 urban local bodies of the state has aimed to set up kitchens to prepare two times cooked meals for them.
Netizens and common men have hailed the Govt for the humanitarian decision.
