AGARTALA, March 22 (TIWN): Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Deb who has thanked the people for a successful lockdown from 7 am today, has extended the bus and other vehicles suspension till tomorrow and it may extend. However, the whole direction is verbal and no force task to be applied. He also appealed all to continue it for 1 week, whereas transport movement was asked to be stopped tomorrow fully.CM also announced that Govt is concerned about BPL and other poverty line section people’s meals and said that his Govt is positive to take a decision to ensure free distributions with more quantity which may be for 15 days or 1 month.He asked border areas people, not to allow any Bangladesh citizen to enter here.Deb further asked public to eat in time and to have huge amounts of protein.
Further, the Chief Minister commanded the private company owners to give their employees salaries in advance and not to cut salaries for their absence due to Coronavirus. He also ensured that no coronavirus case is in Tripura yet.
The CPI-M in a press meet on Sunday has forwarded its total support to the Govt of India which may lockdown the country for a long time.
Addressing media, CPI-M State Secretary Gautam Das said that it is also true that the way Coronavirus is spreading, it is dangerous but the daily labours’ conditions can not be forgotten.
Thus the CPI-M has demanded Rs. 5000 for poor and free ration supplies to all the people except Govt and Semi Govt employees for long one month.
The novel coronavirus cases in India rose to 324 on Sunday, according to Health Ministry data.
Congress leader Gopal Roy also has demanded free ration distribution from door to door.
