AGARTALA, March 21 (TIWN): 10323 teachers’ recruitment which created nationwide controversy, is actually under state govt’s existing law from 1978, such has been commented by former CM Manik Sarkar after Assembly.
He further stated, if 10323 teachers are illegal than all employees from 1978 to be illegal.
10323 teachers have demanded their recruitment in 13,000 non-teaching posts before 31st March, 2020. The 13,000 non-teaching posts were created by the then Left Govt.
Addressing media, while staging agitation before Assembly, the 10323 teachers said that Supreme Court can not decide on what a Govt should do or how Govt can recruit employees but the only option remained to the Govt to reactivate those 13,000 non-teaching posts before 31st March.
The 10323 teachers on Friday has hit the Assembly premise demanding a secure livelihood before 31st March, 2020, as BJP before election promised the same to the teachers.
Teachers raised slogan, protested with full zeal under a joint forum of the teachers.
With the Coronavirus outbreak, the authority called the protest as illegal, imposed Section 144 and arrested the teachers.
On the other side, Tripura Assembly on Day-1 adjourned after opposition raised the issue of 10323 teachers and asked about the status of 13,000 non-teaching posts.
