AGARTALA, March 12 (TIWN): ‘Are you Commissioner of the Labour or the owners ?”, such question has been asked by Congress leader Birjit Sinha while placing a deputation to the Labour Commissioner with tea garden workers rights.

Addressing media, Birjit Sinha said, “There is a huge confusion regarding whether Tripura Labour Commission is actually Commissioner of the Labour or nor. Because on behalf of the Labour Union we are sending him continuously letters to meet us, but no reply came from him”.

“Thus, without getting response, we have come here to meet him without appointment”, Birjit Sinha told media.  

He expressed concerns about the transformation of tea gardens into rubber gardens and workers’ low wage and other problems.
