AGARTALA, March 6 (TIWN): Tripura Animal Husbandry Dept Minister Santana Chakma on Friday has slammed netizens who are spreading lies in social media, claiming, Coronavirus is caused by eating chicken and eggs.

She said, any cooked and heated item can’t cause such disease, instead public should more focus on the precautions prescribed by the Health Dept.

“There is no scientific evidence to show that coronavirus spreads through eating chicken, mutton and seafood. There is a misconception that coronavirus will spread through chicken, mutton and seafood. There is nothing like that. It is scientifically not proven”, she said.

Till now, no coronavirus infection was reported in Tripura.
