AGARTALA, March 6 (TIWN): A journalist of ‘Dainik Sambad’ newspaper was assaulted physically in Santir Bazar subdivision of South Tripura District.

The attack has taken place based on a news publication, a press release of Tripura Working Journalist Association stated.

The victim journalist named Sajal Kanti Baidya is employed in Dainik Sambad daily newspaper, also member of Tripura Working Journalist Association.

He was attempted to be stretched out of his car and then harassed him, threatened not to publish that type of news.

FIR was lodged in local police station. Tripura Working Journalist Association has condemned the incident, sought action against the miscreants.
