AGARTALA, March 6 (TIWN): CPI-affiliated CITU and various rights bodies have organised a 'Jail Bharo' (court arrest) protest in Agartala on Friday against the "anti-worker" policies of the Narendra Modi government and various demands for women including recognition to mid-day-meal, Asha workers.
Huge numbers of women had participated in that rally, staged massive protest. Police arrested the agitators to control the situation.
The rally basically was leading by women workers, contractual employees, terminated workers.
Members of various organisations had taken out the march from Melarmath party office in Agartala.
"The 'Jail Bharo' agitation was conducted in various states and it is a national level programme," she said.
Increasing crime against women was one of the main issue of the protest movement.
