Agartala, Nov 11 (TIWN): The police personnel of Raishyabari police station as well as district police administration failed to rescue the two abducted tribal youths till now who were kidnapped by militants from Mayakumar Para under Raishyabari police station in Tripura here on Sunday evening. As a result panic is prevailing among the villagers as even after conducting a combing operation over past 24 hours of the incident, police and Border Security Force (BSF) could not rescue two abducted youths.
According to the sources, police recovered a gamcha (local cloth) and a torch light from a place in the middle of pillar no- 2266 and 2267 of indo-Bangla international border. As a result, the police suspected that the militant group might have taken two kidnapped youths in Bangladesh by damaging the border fencing in between pillar no- 2266 and 2267 of Indo-Bangla border, said the source.
A BSF Border Out Post (BOP) is situated at Chandrakumar Para adjacent to pillar no- 2266 and 2267 of indo-Bangla international border, where BSF jawans always carrying out their duties. But showing thumb to the security personnel, the militant group easily abducted two youths triggering panic among the villagers. Hence, a questing has also been raised about the role of BSF jawans deployed in that area.
However, Police and BSF are conducting search operations systematically to rescue the two abducted tribal youths from militants, said a highly placed source in police department.
Mentionable, the banned militant groups of Tripura, who set up camps in Bangladesh and Mayanmar have been kidnapping people from Tripura to collect ransom. Police suspected that militants belonging to the outlawed National Liberation Front of Tripura (NLFT) might have abducted two tribal youths.
