AGARTALA, Feb 8 (TIWN): 21 Assam Rifles today acting on a specific information conducted a raid and seized huge contraband items from G B Bazar.

During the raid conducted by the team of AR a total of 54 cubes of brown sugar, 106 yaba tablets and cash Rs 21,000 was seized.

The AR also arrested one Parthajit Ghosh (40), resident of Nandan Nagar area. Later, he was handed over to NCC police station.

The amount of the seized contraband items is estimated to be over Rs 1 lakh in market price.

The same battalion of Assam Rifles has continued social, educational activities throughout Tripura.
