AGARTALA, Jan 29 (TIWN): Badal Chowdhury has filed a bail petition in Tripura High Court as the lower court is not giving him bail even after police failed to provide any chargesheet.
The hearing on the bail petition has been listed on 31st January.
According to Govt lawyer, as 90 days are allowed for police to submit chargesheet thus a person may be kept in jail for that without any chargesheet.
What is suspected is that police may submit a chargesheet on the last day and thus Badal Chowdhury may be sent to jail again.
With all these, Badal Chowdhury has appealed in the High Court.
On the other side, Badal Chowdhury’s health is deteriorating day by day and ill treatment is reported with Badal Chowdhury in the jail.
Badal Chowdhury was arrested allegedly in a politically motivated case for PWD Dept’s 10% extra cost expenditure whereas it is clear that everyone who were engaged for the works were paid off.
