AGARTALA, Jan 16 (TIWN): Healthcare has emerged as one of the largest service sectors in the state. But majority of healthcare services in the state are low quality. They lack good infrastructure, dedicated staff and many other things. The attitude of the employees is also worst in government hospitals. No service is provided on time, no staff available often times.
The poor prefer government hospitals, due to free treatment and medicinal facilities provided. But the poor sanitation, basic infrastructure like beds and unhappy staffs are the prime factors that are the obstacles that they face.
On a visit to the city’s prime hospital IGM, it could be noticed patients lying on the floor in this winter. An old woman with saline channel in her hand lies in front of the door of the bathroom in the ward. Proper bed is far away from their Dreams, they don’t even get a blanket or a mattress to lie down. Is this what GOOD DAYS look like?
Under “Biplab and Company” hospital services are very poor and the patients are suffering a lot due to hackled services. Midnight when the patients rush to the hospital emergency, they have to wait for long even under serious health conditions as the On-duty doctors complete their nap. After calling them for at least half an hour till the doctor arrives.
On the other hand the ministers wearing costly dresses, addresses the media and the people claiming Tripura is on a way of Development. They boast about saying crime rate to have decreased whereas a minor girl of class 9 is being gang raped, admitted at a crucial condition in the hospital. Where the government builds tall buildings, there are no bed facilities for the patients.
