AGARTALA / SANTIR BAZAR, Jan 11 (TIWN): Businessmen in South Tripura’s Pilak Festival have experienced low profit ever in 2020, which still was better in the last year.
Businessmen alleged, the fair last year was also under loss but this year no customer at all and their expectations have heavily hit in the fair.
Report says, not only in the Pilak festival but Tripura is witnessing similar situations across the state. 2019 Durga puja to all festival remained very unprofitable for the sellers.
Slowdown, worklessness situations, slash of allowances, specially drop of MGNREGA works, although on the inauguration day tall claims were made by the leaders about “hopes” and “acche din”.
Pilak, located at a distance of 100 km from Agartala, has stone sculptures of Hindu and Buddhist images dating back to the 8th and 9th centuries. history buffs can time their visit to this culturally rich state during the three-day Pilak archaeological and tourism Festival organised here every year in February.
