AGARTALA, Jan 8 (TIWN): Centering the strike called by 10 Trade Unions against Anti- privatisation, Anti-CAA NRC, paralyzed normal lives of the citizens in the state. Supported by the Students Unions, banks,24 hrs Strike crippled Agartala city and other sub-divisions of the State on Wednesday.
Almost all the shops, institutes, markets, business centres are closed all over the State in response to the strike. However, the ruling BJP party gave strict instructions to the Govt employees to join duties saying strict actions would be taken against those who won’t be present on duty on day of Strike. Govt employees facing severe problems in joining duties as vehicle movement are halted. Those who were seen using motor cycles also faced problems due to petrol crisis.
Large number of securities have been deployed all over the to hold peace across the State. Security blankets covered areas of City Center, Congress Bhavan etc. Though the public response is high regarding Strike, but the BJP activists are trying effortlessly to open markets and shops threatning and warning the people forcefully.
