AGARTALA, Jan 6 (TIWN): Locals of Ambassa have expressed extreme resentment against local MLA Parimal Debbarma for manipulating his self-given pre-poll promise to them before Assembly Election 2018 about building of a new college.
Allegation is, before election he promised to build the new College in the Ambassa but now he is planning to shift it to Maharnai, which is his birth place under Surma constituency.
Dhalai is very important District but yet lagging behind in Education. It has four subdivisions and three of these subdivisions already have Degree colleges. These three subdivisions are : Longtarai Valley, Kamalpur, Raima Valley. But there is no degree college in Ambassa, thus the locals have been demanding for a college there for a long time.
Parimal Debbarma had allegedly promised before election that in Ambassa a degree college will be built once the election is over but now the college plan has been shifted with Maharani under Surma, which is away from Kamalpur at least 20 km.
Now as there is no college in Ambassa, still students are bound to travel 40 km daily to attend classes.
