AGARTALA / BISHALGARH, Jan 2 (TIWN): In a display of brutality, a journalist of Bishalgarh, who is also Bishalgarh press club member was beaten severely by Madhupur PS OC-Bishnupada Bhowmik.
The injured journalist Asish Mia was beaten in Kamalasagar market by OC-Bishnupada Bhowmik and thrown him into a jungle after that.
Asish Mia was on the way to the picnic spots of Kamalasagar. OC-Bishnupada Bhowmik stopped him on the way and attempted to lift his bike to the PS.
When Asish Mia protested, he was severely beaten and left in a jungle.
Local people admitted Asish in IGM hospital, from there he was referred to GB hospital.
Under the BJP era, attacks on media, press and journalists have increased a lot.
Bishalgarh Press Club members have demanded suspension of the OC immediately.
