AGARTALA, Dec 30 (TIWN): In the name of SMART City, Urban Development Dept, AMC begins massive eviction across Gol Bazar without any prior notice or making any alternative arrangement for the hawkers who have lost their business. Earlier, in other places as GB, Buddha Mandir area eviction were completed. At the same time, Forest Dept has continued mass-butchering of trees in the Agartala city led resentments and protests but Govt doesn’t bother to listen to the public. Today in an unprecedented hour, the Municipality authorities rushed to Gol Bazar and gave few minutes to them to remove their shops and rest were taken away by the AMC vehicle. Local businessmen have slammed the brutally of the Govt in the name of SMART City and the businessmen whose shops were saved, they also condemned the AMC led brutal move.
